My political journey began with my active involvement in student politics. During my early years, I took part in various movements that shaped his understanding of social justice and equality, aligning with the Indian National Congress (INC). My passion for addressing people’s concerns and advocating for the welfare of the marginalized drove him to engage deeply with the political system.
From 1987 to 1994, I served as a Member of the Thalikkulam Grama Panchayath. In this role, I worked tirelessly to improve local governance and address the needs of the community. I focus on enhancing infrastructure, public health, and education in Thalikkulam earned. This period marked the beginning of my commitment to uplifting rural areas and fostering sustainable development, shaping my approach to leadership in the years that followed.
From 2011 to 2016, I served as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Kodungallur. During my tenure, I prioritized the development of infrastructure, improving healthcare facilities, and promoting education in the region. I worked diligently to address the needs of the local communities, with a special focus on the empowerment of marginalized groups. My leadership in Kodungallur was characterized by my commitment to environmental protection, sustainable development, and preserving the cultural heritage of the area. My proactive efforts made a lasting impact on the constituency’s progress.
From 2001 to 2011, I served as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Nattika. During my terms, I focused on key issues such as improving educational facilities, healthcare services, and infrastructure development in the region. My tenure as Nattika’s MLA was marked by progressive policies, strong advocacy for farmers’ rights, and efforts to promote social justice.
From 2019 to 2024, I represented Thrissur as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha. Throughout my tenure, I was a vocal advocate for farmers’ rights, environmental protection, and social justice. I has played an active role in parliamentary discussions, championing policies that prioritize the needs of ordinary citizens, particularly marginalized communities. My efforts have focused on enhancing infrastructure, healthcare, and education in Thrissur, while also promoting inclusive development and upholding secular values.
